Chrisma Closet

Chrisma Closet is an outreach ministry that provides clothes, hygienic items and toys for vulnerable youth. Our primary goal is to help vulnerable children “fit in” and focus on their school work without feeling the need to give in to the pressure to compromise their integrity due to lack.

We are committed to providing new clothing items which are comparable to current fashion trends. We believe that circumstances beyond a child’s control should never contribute to his/her identity nor should they be felt by the child.

Chrisma Closet promotes dress code etiquette, builds self-esteem and encourages academic excellence. Chrisma Closet also teams with local non-profits to provide food items when available.

Chrisma Closet’s Feeding Program

Chrisma Closet’s Feeding Program was established to ease budgetary constraints for families with limited income in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.  We partner with Feeding America and other local nonprofit organizations to provide nutritional food items to vulnerable youth and families in need.

Families that participate in our Feeding Program receive groceries to supplement their food budgets and are taught the importance of taking care of their body.  We assist in developing healthy eating habits and the prevention of early onset of medical issues due to poor diets in an effort to promote wellness and wholeness.  Children who are at risk of chronic hunger receive necessary nutrients that support student achievement in the classroom.  We also provide supplemental, nutritious food every month to families that qualify under TEFAP guidelines.

Please contact us if you need food or if you know of any family that is in need.
